Recruitment Details:

Our Red Hat software engineering team is seeking an intern to join us as an Associate Software Engineer in Bangalore, India.

Recruitment Role:


  • Design, develop, and debug storage file system
  • Build and assemble prototypes with assistance from the senior engineers on the team
  • Deliver high-quality products that are extensible and scalable within the specified timeline
  • Participate in and contribute to code reviews
  • Identify product requirements and potential improvements
  • Participate in the complete software development life cycle, from requirement gathering to deployment of the product
  • Conduct system analysis and development, and review and repair legacy code
  • Assist testers and support personnel to determine system problems
  • Debug and resolve field issues
  • Consistently document code throughout the development process
  • Review changes in code or environment that will affect system performance.
Recruitment Eligibility:


  • Extensive working knowledge of C, C++, Makefiles
  • Excellent data structures and algorithm skills
  • Knowledge of operating systems and UNIX internals
  • Involvement with open source projects is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field with relevant experience is preferred.

- Red Hat's Software Applications Validation Engineering Team develops tools and technologies that help enable ISVs partner with Red Hat and build products for the Red Hat platform.

- As an Associate Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to look for challenges in facilitating easy application development and even refine existing codebases to help them scale across the complexities of deployment. 


- Software Engineers work closely with Red Hat's engineering unit and, product management groups to ensure delivery of excellent and technically polished tools for partners and developers.

Responsibilities:

- Undertake technical contributions in the design and development along with sustaining engineering for various components that are part of the Software Certification Program

- Undertake activities relevant to the Developer Services Program in terms of deliverable s  across the phases as defined by Product Management and, other stakeholders in the program

- Design and develop APIs to be consumed by partners and developers as part of the content of the Software Certification Program

Required skills:

- 0-1 year of experience in application development on Linux (preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux)

- Previous experience with OpenStack or other IaaS and PaaS platforms would be preferred

- Exposure to automated test suites and test case development

- Knowledge of virtualized environments and hardware interdependencies

- Knowledge of scripting languages: Python, Ruby, Bash, and Perl
